The tug
Spanish Mist has been hauled up since yesterday (May 15) for refit at AF Theriault and Son. Built in Bilbao, Spain in 1981 as
Reus, was then renamed in 1994 as
Ole Rabudal until she was sold to Fundy Gypsum in Hantsport that year and renamed to her current name, replacing the aging tug Otis Wack. The tug is a repeat visitor to the yard ever since her first refit here in 1995. In around 2010-2011, the ship was up for sale as there was an economic downturn in the gypsum market and since then, the use of Atlantic Towing tugs taking over. It seems as though the Spanish Mist has found a new home in the Magdalen Islands judging from the picture below.
