New ferry for Halifax built locally

I am very happy to say that the HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) has accepted to build a new ferry for its Halifax-Woodside run.  The winning bidder:  AF Theriault and sons.  The new ship is expected to be completed by April 1, 2014 at a price tag of just a little over $4 million.  E.Y.E. Marine will start designing a newer version of the current Metro Transit design, which has been built twice in 1978 and once in 1986 by Pictou Industries.  This contract is great for the employees down to the shipyard and could create more jobs  there throughout the building process.
