As big events had led me to Halifax over the weekend, it also made me want to see if there was any progress on the future Digby-Saint John ferry formerly named
Blue Star Ithaki and temporarly labelled
Canada 2014. This morning, I did see her stern ramp down and starboard side life rafts at her stern and recovery boat amidships have been removed.
The Fast Rescue Boat was damaged and will be replaced. The passenger count won't be as high as in Greece so some liferafts won't be required. She handles well in a sea and is very maneuverable...lots of power. She will still have European power outlets as it will not be converted.(240v, 50Hz.)
