On November 7, 2013, the MV Princess of Acadia had a malfunction in her breakers causing the ferry to drift aground while approaching the ferry terminal in Digby. Fortunately, no one was injured and only propeller blades were damaged and some scraping along the keel. The Transportation Safety Board has released a report into the incident this week. (link to report here) This was a fluke incident in my mind as the ferry has always been reliable in my 20+ years of using the ferry service and even if the vessel would not have been replaced in the immediate future, I would still use it regularly.
