Figure 1: MV Blue Puttees on the afternoon of Saturday July 27, 2013
Just as I arrived from my vacation across the Maritimes (and left North Sydney yesterday), the
MV Blue Puttees ran aground this morning in Port aux Basques harbour and the cause is still under investigation. Ironically, I was on the day cruise just days ago on the ferry (Sunday July 28 to be exact) and, as always, had a great time onboard, and despite todays grounding, look forward to sailing on her again (as well as her fleet mates) in the future.

Figure 3: The MV Blue Puttees bulbous bow taken as well on Sunday, the point of impact today. It appears as though it's only minor damage and there was some rocks and gravel still stuck to it as she was backing out to get back to the terminal wharf this afternoon.
