This morning, I heard the news of yet another of our former ferries heading for a ship breaking yard. And this time, it's the Scotia Prince's turn to head to her final destination, still unknown which yard she's heading to, but since she's in Sri-Lanka now, my safe bet would be Alang in the province of Gujarat, India in the same yard as MV Caribou and MV Joseph and Clara Smallwood. In a March 9 news release from her now former managers, she was sold and was to be delivered to a breakers yard by March 12.
This is a damn shame as I been making a plea to several marine shipping firms to seek acquisition of the Scotia Prince - Canada Steamship Lines & V.ShipsLeisure however it may have been too much,too little,too late!
